Next Step Recovery | NSR of Asheville is a leading provider of drug and alcohol addiction recovery programs located in Asheville, North Carolina. Our program offers a PHP (SACOT) program & an Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) designed specifically for males and females in the Greater Asheville community. We also provide support and access to integrated services for our Extended Care & Sober Living Program. Established in 2006, NSR of Asheville is known for its high-quality recovery housing and comprehensive continuum of care. Our program incorporates a variety of addiction therapies, outdoor adventure therapy, relapse prevention, and life skills education.


Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Substance Abuse Counselor located in Asheville, NC. The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for treatment planning, case management, chemical dependency counseling, relapse prevention, and mental health support. The counselor will work closely with individuals seeking recovery, providing compassionate care, guidance, and support throughout their journey.


Qualifications

  • Treatment Planning, Case Management, and Chemical Dependency skills
  • Relapse Prevention and Mental Health knowledge
  • Experience in substance abuse counseling or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and empathy for individuals struggling with addiction
  • Knowledge of addiction recovery frameworks and resources
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Certifications or licenses in substance abuse counseling (e.g., LCAS, LCMHC, LSW,)
