Monroe Biomedical Research is preparing for significant expansion of its clinical

research operations, including expanded infrastructure and new clinical trial site

locations. We are looking for a Business Development Director to help lead these

expansion efforts.

As a Business Development Director, you will play a crucial role in leading efforts to

identify and secure new clinical trial opportunities for our growing site locations. This

pivotal role involves strategic planning, market analysis, leveraging existing as well as

building new relationships within the industry, including pharmaceutical companies,

biotech firms, and CROs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the

clinical research industry, with proven success in business development and a deep

understanding of clinical trial operations on the site level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Chief Business Development Officer to develop and

implement a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and

pursue new clinical trial opportunities, focusing on expanding our portfolio and

capabilities.

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers within

pharmaceutical and biotech companies, CROs, and other relevant organizations.

  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and

challenges in the clinical research industry.

  • Engaging in a targeted BD effort based on industry trends and MBR’s site

capabilities.

  • Working closely with MBR Site Directors and Managers to ensure that BD

milestones are met, including (but not limited to):

  • Making and tracking the status of initial submissions of interest to study

brokers, CROs, and sponsors.

  • Executing NDAs with study brokers, CROs, and sponsors.
  • Submitting feasibility questionnaires
  • Scheduling Pre-Site Selection Visits
  • Monitoring and reporting on business development activities, outcomes, outlook,

and ROI to senior management through the company CRM system.

  • Representing the center at industry conferences, workshops, and networking

events to promote our services and capabilities.

  • Working closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and

strategies that effectively communicate our value proposition to potential clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar role.
  • Experience within the clinical research or pharmaceutical industry is

required.

  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret data and industry

trends.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes and site operations is strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Wants to build a career within a rapidly growing organization.
  • Preferably based in North Carolina; exceptional remote candidates on the East

Coast will be considered.
