Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. in our Nashville, TN office, you will work with project teams to create civil engineering site development designs, develop permitting and construction plans, and prepare municipal zoning and land development applications for our commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy clients. From solar farms to major university expansions and residential subdivisions to natural gas facilities, you‘ll take part in designing site layouts, site grading, erosion and sedimentation controls, stormwater management facilities, and site utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials, you‘ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.

You will work closely with our Project Managers and Principals in our civil/site practice to plan and execute projects, communicate with clients, develop new client opportunities, and grow your career. You‘ll coordinate with other practices (including geotechnical engineering, environmental, ecological, and other practices) to address project-specific needs. You will also mentor junior staff on technical items and attend industry organization and client meetings.



Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. a plus) or relevant education;
  • 5-8 years of engineering experience;
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • E.I.T. or P.E. preferred;
  • Proficiency in computer modeling software, including: AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Storm Sewers;
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior staff.
