Position Overview:

As an Inventory Manager, you will be crucial in optimizing inventory levels, managing stock movements, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. You will oversee all aspects of inventory control, from procurement to storage and distribution, to minimize costs while maintaining adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.


Functional Responsibilities:


Inventory Planning and Analysis:

  1. Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, trends, lead times, and demand forecasts.
  2. Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and take appropriate actions to reduce excess stock.

Procurement and Ordering:

  1. Collaborate with the purchasing department to place orders with suppliers based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements.

Inventory Tracking and Control:

  1. Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and consumption patterns to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  2. Implement and oversee cycle counting, periodic stock audits, and reconciliation processes.

Warehouse Management:

  1. Efficiently organize and maintain the warehouse, optimizing space utilization and ensuring safe and systematic storage of inventory.
  2. Oversee the receiving and replenishment processes to ensure timely processing of inbound freight.

Inventory Reporting and Performance:

  1. Generate regular reports on inventory performance, highlighting key metrics such as stock turnover and fill rates.
  2. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Supply Chain Coordination:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and logistics, to align inventory levels with operational needs and customer demands.
  2. Coordinate with production planning to ensure a seamless flow of materials and finished goods.

Compliance and Documentation:

  1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  2. Manage documentation related to inventory transactions and audits.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide the inventory control team.
