Alumanate is a rapidly growing manufacturer of aluminum composite panels, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers across the United States. With our recent expansion into manufacturing in Houston, Texas, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee and enhance our quality assurance processes.


Position Overview:

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality control system for our aluminum composite panel production. This role will ensure that all products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations. The QC Manager will oversee QC staff, conduct regular audits, and collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement QC Procedures:
  • Create and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control processes, including peel strength testing, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality.
  • Establish batch testing protocols and ensure consistent application throughout the production process.
  • Manage QC Staff:
  • Supervise, train, and support QC technicians on both day and night shifts.
  • Ensure QC staff are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Quality Audits and Continuous Improvement:
  • Conduct regular internal quality audits to assess adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the production team to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of quality checks, test results, and any identified defects or issues.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management, including analysis of trends and recommendations for improvements.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Work with the sales and customer service teams to address any quality-related customer concerns or returns.
  • Implement feedback from customers to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • ISO 9001 Certification (if applicable):
  • Lead efforts towards obtaining and maintaining ISO 9001 certification or other relevant quality management certifications.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is required; experience with aluminum composite panels or similar materials is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficient in using QC tools and equipment, such as peel testers, measuring devices, and surface scanners.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and certification processes is highly desirable.
