This role is a critical member of the team to increase and support new and successful College Financial Representatives for Northwestern Mutual’s Internship Program – Milwaukee, WI Primary responsibilities include building high-level, quality relationships both outside and inside the firm to promote the Northwestern Mutual Internship program, generate referrals, and develop influential connections both on and off campus. Finding, hiring, fostering, and developing students to help them thrive. Go-getter mentality is essential to attract high- level candidates, with an action-oriented mindset and a strong ability to connect with others. Working with the Managing Director and Director of Internship Development, this person is responsible for building and maintaining relationships across each campus to promote Northwestern Mutual as well as maintain sourcing activity and achieving campus recruitment goals. Primary Responsibilities
Campus Sourcing, Recruiting and Selection
- Source College Financial Representatives/Interns by leveraging your existing network, being active in the community, prospecting within initial interviews and utilizing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Handshake, job platforms)
- Build and develop effective candidate referral sources through personal connections, Centers of Influence (COI’s), and existing College Financial Representatives
- Identify candidates in communities that are underrepresented in the financial services industry
- Facilitate strong candidate selection process by sourcing and screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, administering selection tools and guiding candidates through follow up meetings until offer
- Master information and language regarding all aspects of the internship and selection process and effectively communicate with prospects through persistent and professional outreach and candidates through consistent and proactive touch points
- Actively coordinate and participate in campus events and speaking opportunities to promote and brand Northwestern Mutual and build connections in the community that will yield referrals long term
- Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual campus recruiters to share leads/best practices
- Help with maintaining and updating selection process to achieve incredible candidate experience and execute campus recruiting plan to reach activity and contract goals
Additional duties
- Work closely with leadership team to drive growth in the office as a team
- Develop proficiency and use of home office-supported software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process
- Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in selection process; establish and implement improvements
- Support interns post selection through daily/weekly coaching and development meetings
- Assist in coordinating campus recruiting and internship meetings and/or events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or military experience
- Minimum of 0-3 years work experience, preferably in sales, entrepreneurship, leadership, recruiting, or the financial services industry; huge plus if been in a commission based or new client acquisition reliant role
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and professionally as a team member and with all levels of people
- Experience with prospecting, generating leads via phone or face-to-face interactions preferred
- Strong personal network and/or community involvement to leverage from a recruiting perspective
- Developed intrapersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Benefits:
• Base salary: $50,000 per year
• 7 days of paid time off (PTO) in first year, 16 days of PTO in year 2
• 90% of premiums paid on base plan for employee health insurance
