Title: PCB Engineer (Electrical Engineer)

Location: Redmond, WA

Schedule: Mon – Fri   8-5

Pay range: $50/hr to $55/hr 

Duration:  12 months

Travel: Yes up to 50% to Taiwan and Korea

 

Why is this open:

  • They need additional help with the PBC teams, particularly with traveling to suppliers and helping with engineering issues

Mission:

To help the PCB manufacturing teams to ensure the PCBs can get manufactured.

Day to Day:  

  • 3 categories
    • DMF portion; ensuring that they are designed for manufacturing correctly
      • Ensuring correct spacing, design, etc
      • participating is design
    • Doing root-cause analysis or trouble shooting PCBs and the manufacturing process
      • Figure out what went wrong
      • Work with manufacturing to correct
    • Supplier qualification
      • Provide input to the sourcing manager, quality teams, and suppliers about the PCBs
      • Working with other teams
      • Some work with suppliers directly a well
  • Travel
    • Visiting suppliers in Taiwan and Korea as a team
    • Up to 50% travel

 Must-Have:

  • Previously PCB engineer, designer, or layout (with extreme knowledge of PCB)
    • They aren’t looking for a PCBA person, the assembly isn’t necessary
  • Knowledge about the process of PCB manufacturing
    • Some experience with complex PCB
    • Keywords to look for.
      • Micro VIA
      • DFMA (Design for manufacture ability)
  • Worked with suppliers
  • Managed PCB fabrications during the ENTIRE PCB lifecycle
    • They want someone who understands the entire PCB process, not just the assembly or manufacturing part of it.
  • Understands TPM tools (Microsoft office, EFM tools, etc)
    • There’s not really a specific tool, they just need to be able to work with Tech
