Practice Director, Banking and Financial Services


Iris is looking for a leader for its Banking and Financial Services Practice to enhance its domain strengths and provide solutions to its clients that can help solve complex business problems. The keys expectations of the role are:


  • Practice Development: Help develop and manage domain led Go-To-Market offerings in areas of Iris’ domain expertise. Provide thought leadership in areas such as Capital Markets, Banking, Risk and Compliance. Identify, develop and own domain-based solutions.
  • Pre-Sales Support; Provide pre-sales support from a domain solution standpoint in client initiatives including functional understanding, estimations, solution approach.
  • Consulting: Lead short consulting assignments in the early part of the life-cycle of a client initiative
  • Marketing: Lead domain based marketing efforts such as webinars, events, white-papers, presentations and other collaterals


Requirements

  • 15 – 20 years of experience w.r.t. Pre Sales and Consulting in organizations delivering software development services in the financial services industry
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in software technical / delivery roles
  • 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Industry – Investment Banking, Investment Management and others
  • Proven experience in pre-sales, solution selling and practice management
  • Experience of working with offshore software execution teams
  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in a Software discipline and/or MBA is a plus

Self-driven and motivated to achieve success. Must have excellent inter-personal skills.



Technical Skills


Software Industry Experience

  • Software development lifecycle experience on popular development platforms - .Net, Java, iOS, Android or Data Management
  • Depth in software engineering principles e.g. Product development, Agile development, etc.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Software components – Databases, frameworks, IDEs, etc.
  • Understanding of software architecture
  • Deep understanding of software organizations and roles
  • Knowledge of emerging trends – Digital, Social, Cloud, Mobile, DevOps, Data/Analytics, RPA, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with offshore teams


Industry Experience

Required - Good experience and exposure in Financial Industry – Investment Banking, Investment Management, Brokerage and Wealth Management, Risk and Compliance


Delivery Skills

The candidate must demonstrate a progressive set of experiences e.g. developer, technical lead, solution architect, project manager, etc. against a software development lifecycle context.



Other Skills

· Ability to interact with, report out and make recommendations to executive level steering committee

· Excellent client interaction and presentation skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent thought leadership is required

· Capable to be a Mentor in building teams and enhance technical skills for the team

· Good at internal and external stakeholder management
