SUMMARY:

As the Business Development Representative of the California Farm Bureau, you will act as the liaison between the client and the sales team. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.


To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in customer service and ideally in generating new leads. You will use your communication skills to generate new meetings and cultivate strong relationships with partners, from first point of contact through the lifecycle of the client’s partnership. You will also ensure proper after-sales service. If you are motivated, results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, we would like to meet you


Ultimately, you will contribute to our long-term business growth by generating new television, print, and digital advertising opportunities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·        Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails daily.

·        Proactively seek new business opportunities and generate leads.

·        Qualify leads as sales opportunities through meetings and conversations.

·        Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services.

·        Build long-term trusting relationships with partners.

·        Set up meetings or call between prospective clients and sales team.

·        Attend conferences and other in-person events to build network.

·        Report to the Business Development Manager on a weekly basis for updates.

·        Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing plans.

·        Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

·        Proven work experience as a customer service representative, sales representative, or a similar role.

·        Track record of exceeding expectations in previous roles.

·        Excellent communication skills and organization.

·        Understanding of sales performance metrics.

·        Interest in developing a stronger understanding of a career in sales through best practices and strategies.

·        Highly self-motivated and disciplined.
