The Market Development Representative is responsible for leading the sales efforts in their assigned market of Sacramento, California, to achieve company goals in the areas of acquiring quality new business and collaborating on onboarding new customers. This role involves generating leads, managing the sales funnel, and implementing processes to grow and expand the customer base in the designated area. Travel may be required up to 75% of the time to prospect and acquire new customers. The Market Development Representative will reside in the assigned market and report to the Division Manager.


  • Reach sales targets for lead generation, conversion of new business, sales funnel management, onboarding, and distribution of new initiatives in the convenience store sector
  • Utilize various lead generation methods (such as cold-calls, referrals, networking) to qualify new business opportunities effectively
  • Manage customer funnel and new store pipeline processes to ensure successful onboarding
  • Analyze past performance data and set goals for the designated market
  • Engage in field activities to implement sales best practices as guided by the organization
  • Address practical challenges and outline action steps in situations with limited standardization
  • Assist in training new Market Development Representatives
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and overall company objectives

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
