New Leaf Literary & Media's Senior Manager of Film & Television is the point contact for all applicable film and TV matters relating to New Leaf's clients and projects. As a Senior Manager of Film & Television, it's important for client service to come first, partnering with their literary team to facilitate the client’s goals in the adaptation landscape.


Job Duties Include: 


  • the submissions and sales of projects on behalf of authors and their co-agents;
  • referrals for clients to any necessary outside consultants and representatives, including publicists and attorneys; 
  • day to day management of client and co-agent needs in the world of film and television;
  • maintain accurate and meticulous records according to New Leaf's process and procedures of all information the agency and its departments need to support clients, as well as to document any conversations where necessary;
  • consistent updates for filmmakers, studios and producers on New Leaf projects, in order to stoke and maintain interest in the underlying intellectual property; 
  • development of screenplay adaptations, alongside the primary producers working on the projects;
  • adding value to the properties by suggesting talent, such as directors and screenwriters, to work on adaptations; 
  • retrieving and acquiring exclusive looks at new projects from Hollywood referrals; 
  • gathering information and requests on the intellectual property needs of Hollywood colleagues, including agents, managers and producers, in order to disseminate them to the New Leaf team for knowledge purposes, but also with an eye toward targeted and strategic submissions;
  • communicate regularly with members of other New Leaf departments, as well as other agents, to troubleshoot and/or address client needs;
  • lead and participate in research and development opportunities for clients, join calls and meetings, and liaise in appointed client-related matters;
  • anticipate the needs of clients and colleagues in order to ensure a seamless and positive experience;
  • opportunities for in-house ideation and development, in alignment with the company's trajectory and goals. 


Qualifications:


  • 8+ years experience in either Film & TV talent management, adaptation licensing, and/or book-to-film departments
  • Self-starter, able to consistently deliver without requiring significant oversight and direction
  • Critical thinker with the ability to listen, analyze and evaluate an issue or situation prior to making decisions
  • Open and active listener, with the ability to respectfully challenge teams to improve project outcome or solve challenges
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information and successfully elevating critical situations that require timely decision making
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong and eloquent presentation skills and business presence with the ability to represent the company in any business setting
  • Must have excellent excellent email and phone manner and a strong client service focus in a time sensitive environment
  • Team-player mentality, highly collaborative, and committed to building a strong and healthy team culture; demonstrated ability to partner with teams across different departments and business areas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, G-Suite, and Adobe, experience with Basecamp a plus
