We are seeking a dynamic and versatile IT Lead to join our fast-growing startup as our first dedicated IT professional. In this pivotal role, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside Engineering leaders to shape the company’s IT infrastructure and strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a broad set of skills, ranging from workstation management to networking, and a strong understanding of IT policy writing and implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Establish and lead the IT function, setting the foundation for a scalable and robust IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimal resource allocation.


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and support rapid growth and innovation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand and prioritize business needs and objectives.


Infrastructure and Systems Management:

  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and workstations.
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and support of hardware and software systems.
  • Manage IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.


Security and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including data protection and privacy laws.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.


Support and Service Management:

  • Oversee the IT support function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Implement and manage IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.


Policy Writing and Implementation:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive IT policies and procedures tailored to the startup’s needs, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
  • Implement and communicate these policies across the organization, providing training and support as necessary.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring quality service and value for money.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements, monitoring vendor performance and compliance with SLAs.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT policy writing and implementation.
  • Broad skill set, including workstation management, networking, and system administration.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
