Summary:


Our client is seeking a motivated, driven Senior Geotechnical Engineer (P.E.) to join their rapidly growing Civil Engineering Consulting Firm in several U.S. locations The firm focuses on Civil, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineering for Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Projects across the United States.

Base Salary: $90k - $130k/annually, depending on location and experience.


Required Qualifications:


  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (OR) may be a Registered E.I.T. with documented proof that you are scheduled for the P.E. Exam within 6 months of interviewing.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation.
  • Master's S Degree in Civil Engineering or advanced technical training is preferred.
  • NCEES Records account with ability to obtain multi-state P.E. Licensure is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering Consulting (Geotechnical).
  • Experienced in planning, implementing, and managing large-scale subsurface investigation programs and related laboratory testing.
  • Experienced in foundation design.
  • Experienced in preparing contract documents.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experienced in leading, mentoring, and managing at least 3 direct, technical staff reports.
  • Must have a business development, consulting, and client relations background and experience that is proven by examples or references.
  • Experience in geophysical testing and evaluations, including active and passive MASW and ERI.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Renewable Energy sector (in the U.S.), including managing oil and gas, and onshore and offshore wind projects.
  • Experienced with trenchless technologies, including jack-and-bore, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), micro-tunneling, and geotechnical investigations and reporting to support these technologies.
  • Flexible and willing to travel to conduct field investigations for up to several weeks at a time when necessary.
  • Active participation in professional and community societies is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Deep working knowledge of Geotechnical Software: gINT, GeoStudio, L-Pile, ALLPILE, DeepEx, and PLAXIS.
  • Ability to find solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Working alongside a team of high-performing engineering and technical professionals.
  • Reviewing engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary environment with other technical disciplines to fulfill project scope and responsibilities.
  • Overseeing the management of geotechnical field investigations, construction observation, engineering evaluations, and technical analyses completed by junior staff.
  • Preparing technical reports and summaries.
  • Interfacing directly with clients, stakeholders, and co-workers to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Completing and reviewing technical analyses prepared by others, including shallow and foundation design, support of excavation, slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical analysis.

  • Travel can be expected for company meetings to any of the company offices, including South Plainfield NJ, Austin TX, Albany NY, Birmingham AL, Columbus OH, and Charlottesville VA.
  • Travel to supervise or train staff on project sites may be required from time to time.
