Key Responsibilities:

The Civil & Foundations Engineer will undertake the design and analysis of deliverables related to foundation support systems for CB&I storage structures. As the role progresses, the complexity of assignments will increase, fostering greater independence and reduced supervision. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Designing and analyzing both shallow and deep foundations for steel plate structures, including flat-bottomed cylindrical storage tanks, spheres, elevated tanks, and other specialized structures.
  • Reviewing and interpreting soil reports to ascertain soil parameters.
  • Investigating and resolving civil engineering challenges encountered in the field.
  • Engineering designs for specialized concrete structures, including foundations.
  • Defining engineering requirements for ground improvement and reinforcement techniques to support steel plate structure foundations.
  • Collaborating with drafters, modelers, detailers, and personnel from sales, estimating, operations, and project management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Structural Engineering or Civil Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil structural or foundation engineering.
  • Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, IBC, API, ACI, and related structural and seismic codes is essential.
  • Professional Engineering registration is preferred or the capability to obtain it.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
