Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Estimator at CT Industrial Services in Lake Ariel, PA, with flexibility for some remote work. Estimator will be responsible to self-perform daily, weekly, and monthly job tasks that will be required to aid with the overall function of a bidding an environmental construction project.  This candidate will work with Project Managers, Estimators, and Senior Leadership on a variety of tasks with regard to performing take offs and bids for demolition, environmental and construction related projects nationwide. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Provide world class customer service to each client.
  2. Become familiar with company production history and have a complete understanding of subcontracting and procurement strategies as well as budget issues.
  3. Review project proposals, estimates and/or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.  
  4. Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications. Experience with PlanSwift or On-Screen Takeoff a plus. 
  5. Prepare estimates using estimating software and proprietary spreadsheets. Bid2Win experience preferred. 
  6. Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
  7. Attend site walks to prepare reports for bidding opportunities.
  8. Models excellent follow-up and responsiveness to the needs and requests of customers, employees and vendors. Provides open and honest feedback and communications and holds employees accountable for their performance.
  9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.       
  10. Attend all types of construction meetings, bid meetings, and conferences.
  11. Develop RFP’s / RFQ’s and correspond with vendors and subcontractors.
  12. Correspond with Professional Architects, Engineers and Consultants.
  13. Correspond with the Owners and/or Owner Representatives of projects.


Specific Duties of an CTIS Estimator


  1. Full utilization of Bid2Win Estimating software for 100% of the bids. 
  2. Ability to perform takeoff from plans, assist estimating, assist in writing requests for quotes and obtaining quotes from vendors.
  3. Help prepare Project Data Sheets (PDS) for every project.
  4. Submittal preparation to clients and agencies.
  5. Occasional (non-stamped) design of construction needs such as pump and or pipe sizing, support structures for construction and access roads etc.
  6. Review and approval of submittals to CTIS from vendors such as shop drawings and cut sheets.


Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • 2-3 years hands on environmental/construction
  • Proficiency in interpreting project specifications and blueprints
  • Experience in cost estimation and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
