Position Overview

This full-time hybrid position for an Estimator at CT Industrial Services offers flexibility for remote work. The Estimator will undertake essential daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to support the bidding process for environmental construction projects. This role involves collaboration with Project Managers, Estimators, and Senior Leadership to execute take-offs and bids for demolition, environmental, and construction projects on a national scale.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service to all clients.
  2. Gain a thorough understanding of the company's production history and subcontracting and procurement strategies, along with budget considerations.
  3. Analyze project proposals, estimates, and plans to assess timelines, funding constraints, project execution procedures, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
  4. Conduct quantity take-offs from plans and specifications, with experience in PlanSwift or On-Screen Takeoff being advantageous.
  5. Utilize estimating software and proprietary spreadsheets to prepare estimates, with a preference for Bid2Win experience.
  6. Review status reports from project personnel and adjust schedules or plans as necessary.
  7. Participate in site visits to compile reports for bidding opportunities.
  8. Exhibit excellent follow-up and responsiveness to the needs of clients, employees, and vendors, providing clear feedback and holding team members accountable.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  10. Attend various construction meetings, bid meetings, and conferences.
  11. Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and communicate with vendors and subcontractors.
  12. Engage with Professional Architects, Engineers, and Consultants.
  13. Communicate with project Owners and/or Owner Representatives.

Specific Responsibilities of a CTIS Estimator

  1. Fully utilize Bid2Win Estimating software for all bids.
  2. Conduct take-offs from plans, assist in estimating, and help in drafting requests for quotes while obtaining vendor quotes.
  3. Prepare Project Data Sheets (PDS) for each project.
  4. Manage submittal preparation for clients and agencies.
  5. Occasionally design construction needs such as pump and pipe sizing, support structures, and access roads.
  6. Review and approve vendor submittals, including shop drawings and cut sheets.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in environmental or construction fields.
  • Proficient in interpreting project specifications and blueprints.
  • Experience in cost estimation and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
