Overview:

· Full-time paralegal with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience to join its Legal Department, with a focus on insurance regulatory filings and corporate entity maintenance.

· The successful candidate will be expected to lead, and project manage regulatory filings, including coordinating with individuals throughout, editing, using superior judgment, and communicating concisely and effectively, to ensure regulatory filings are submitted in a timely and complete manner as required by law and regulation.


The successful candidate will:

· Lead preparation, coordination and submission of state insurance department regulatory filings, submissions, regulatory inquiry responses, request letters, biographical affidavits.

· Interface directly with senior leaders and regulators; develop strong relationships across and outside the organization.

· Research insurance regulatory requirements and keep regulatory filings current based on such research.

· Maintain insurance regulatory filing tracker and calendar; project manage and coordinate deliverables with individuals throughout.

· Report metrics and trends of insurance regulatory filings as well as other matters.

· Responsible for drafting/review and sign off on statutory filings, including legal interrogatories in quarterly statutory financial statements.

· Maintain and coordinate insurance and business entity licensing, including coordinating completion of state annual reports, for a growing and expanding enterprise.

· Lead maintenance of closing sets for transactions and transaction listings.

· Lead roll out of legal entity management controls and processes, including maintaining legal entity management system, updating complex transaction structure charts, and maintaining all registered agent records.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 4-5 years of corporate paralegal experience.

· Prior experience with insurance regulatory filings and entity maintenance.

· Mix of previous law firm experience and in-house legal department experience preferred corporate legal department experience required.

· Ability to make sound decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently.

· Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions in a fast-paced environment.

· Willingness to take ownership of matters.

· Superior project management and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous process improvement.

· Ability to work across enterprise and present complex matters to attorneys and business leaders.

· Exemplary communication and organizational skills; superior attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently, motivated self-starter.

· Strong work ethic; high level of personal integrity and accountability.

· Demonstrated level of maturity, discretion, and judgment.

· Team player: collaborative, enthusiastic, results oriented.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), online legal research tools.

· Enthusiasm for embracing new technologies and learning how to use/build new platforms, prior experience with legal billing systems, analytics software, and corporate records and entity management databases a plus.

· Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team.

· College degree.

· Paralegal certification a plus.
