Manufacturing Engineer - 18-Month W2 Contract, ONSITE in Franklin, IN


Summary:

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • Support new process implementation
  • Creating Process Standard work documentation
  • Supporting new machine startup
  • Validation & PPAP documentation

Typical task breakdown:

  • Creating Standard work
  • collecting validation data
  • PPAP documentation
  • Process layout / 5S design
  • Gauge R&R
  • Support NPI process with cross functional teams


Interaction with team:

  • Works closely with operations, technicians, and other engineers
  • Verbal & written communication daily
  • Online team meeting with offsite employees or suppliers


Work environment:

  • Office & shop floor. Steel toe shoes, safety glasses & ear plugs required
  • Time split between office & shop floor


Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience OR
  • Associates with 7+ years experience OR
  • Masters with < 5 years experience


Technical Skills

(Required)

  • Understanding part prints & designs
  • FMEA & Control plan creation
  • Basic understanding of gauging & part inspection

(Desired)

  • Experience designing & implementing manufacturing processes
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Automation experience
  • Strong safety & ergonomic understanding for manufacturing processes
  • Time management
  • equipment installation & troubleshooting
  • CAD Tool design
