Teacher - Head Start

Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or
- Birth – Kindergarten Education. North Carolina Birth to Kindergarten Licensure preferred.
- Dedicated to child development and early childhood education; oriented to the concept of the total family.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in direct services to young children.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites, community resources, and home visits
- Meet federal and state background check and drug screen requirements
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly (both written and oral)
Job Description:
- Lead Teacher provides a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for children enrolled in Family Services Child
- Development Head Start/Early Head Start program. The Lead Teacher actively promotes school readiness goals and set appropriate goals that address the five essential domains (social-emotional, cognitive development & general knowledge, language/literacy, physical development & health and approaches to learning).
- Develop individual goals, provide ongoing assessment on the developmental progress, and facilitate transitions into kindergarten
