Summary:
The Marine Service Manager is accountable for successful development of sales and sales strategy of Marine services and products, as well as managing the local service team and daily service activities.
Reporting to the Operation Manager of SKF Solution Factory - Marine Services (Ridderkerk, NL), this critical sales role is responsible for managing the daily relationship with customers and account management to effectively drive sales growth of Marine services and products. Further, the MSM is responsible for identifying and onboarding new customers and developing a sustainable customer base, to grow Marine Services and Products, as well as managing local service team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent year-over-year sustainable sales growth within the assigned portfolio of
- business
- Short and long-term goals are met through actively managing an existing portfolio of business and identifying new customers for SKF‘s spindle remanufacturing services.
- Effective sales and marketing practices
- Adhere to SKF defined sales process; leveraging technology to provide efficiency and increased value to our customer base
- Identify and define a new customer base that is sustainable and provides short- and long-term sales growth.
- Build, deepen and sustain customer relationships
- Enhance, broaden, create and deepen key customer relationships that ultimately leads to business growth through proactive, consistent customer connection
- Actively connect with customers, handling issues in a timely fashion while determining best course of action for both customer and SKF.
- Effective and strong business management practices
- Provide detailed forecast monthly, quarterly, annually to SKF management; obtain comments on potential sales growth
- Provide accurate quarterly business reviews with SKF management
- Manage and efficiently allocate T&E and marketing budgets
- Strong corporate account management practices & customer mapping
- Develop productive, effective and sustainable long-term relationships with customers, within the region and account base. Map customer contacts identifying key influences and decision makers.
- Strong leadership capabilities and team involvement
- Work with both SKF and customer organization to understand/uncover needs with objective of driving improved customer and employee experience
- Lead by example; hold customers accountable to their commitments and actions; documenting specific opportunities, actions and notes
- Lead / manage the local service team
Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering and/or machining
- Minimum 5 years experience with customer sales interaction
- Strong product knowledge with an industrial application and mechanical aptitude
- Driven by sales and project management success and has a passion for winning
- Proven ability to develop positive and lasting rapport with both internal and external customers at all levels of an organization
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Proven ability to manage service team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- General industry knowledge and technical sales skills
- Persuasive presentation and negotiation skills
- Embraces change in the name of efficiency and effectiveness
- Demonstrated achievement in past commercial or technical roles
- Self-motivated and execution focused with ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel)
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, as needed within the identified region
