Introduction

The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Teacher - Vocational Math position at Green Bay Correctional Institution, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This is a re-announcement. If you had applied previously, you do not need to apply again.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Education Director, this position will develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Adult Basic Education/Vocational Mathematics to persons in our care in order to meet their individual academic and/or mathematics needs.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 13-04 with a starting salary of $28.55/hour - $33.36/hour plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants must meet the following special requirements:
Adult Basic Education (ABE) credentials as determined by Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Applicants meet one of the five areas listed below in order to be eligible:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Elementary Education. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Secondary Education in the area of Reading, English, Math Science or Social Studies Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Special Education Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a minor in any one of the following areas (Math, Reading, English, Science, or Social StudiesOR
Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 15 combined semester credits in Math, Reading, English, Science or Social StudiesIn addition to the ABE requirement, applicants must meet the criteria below in order to be eligible to teach WTCS Vocational Math:
Master's degree in Mathematics or master's degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a combination of the discipline or related qualifying subfields that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught.Examples of qualifying subfields could include, but are not limited to: Math EducationStatisticsEconometricsEconomicsEngineeringPhysics
