Summary

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience managing acquisition programs, supervising acquisition professional staff and overseeing critical acquisition management activities which have national impact and affects the public.

Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as the Deputy Director of Disaster and Field Operations for the Acquisition Operations Division. Typical assignments include:

Planning and developing contractual strategies to meet the needs of assigned Directorates. This includes the management, training, and oversight of contract specialists who develop pre-negotiation positions, types of contract, and citation of appropriate regulatory and statutory authorities to justify the acquisition strategy, and prepare the necessary documentation. Managing and overseeing the activities of highly specialized staff, possessing expertise in large complex competitive acquisitions. Directing procurement activities in a work environment which is subject to frequent abrupt, and unexpected changes in work assignments, goals, and deadlines and requires the supervisor to constantly adjust operations under the pressure of continuously changing and unpredictable conditions. Directing subordinates to provide briefings, technical advice, training and support to senior managers on contracting practices and procedures for procurement activities.
