Summary

This position is for a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations) located in the Employee-Management Relations Division, Employee Relations branch of NNSA HR. The incumbent will serve as an advisor and operational consultant on a variety of federal programs such as, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, reasonable accommodations, and drug testing.

Duties

As a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations), you will:

Provide functional and procedural guidance on Human Resources matters related to performance management, employee relations, and/or reasonable accommodations, etc. Resolve problems of more than average difficulty on a full range of matters pertinent to assigned functions. Research and analyze processes to ensure optimum support for assigned and attached personnel. Administer programs in accordance with process, practices, policies, and statutory requirements. Analyze employee relations, performance management issues, and or reasonable accommodations by providing insight into EEOC and MSPB case law. Provide managers with options that align with the intent of the program while protecting employee rights. Initiate and maintain regular and recurring contacts with a variety of civilian supervisors and senior management officials in NNSA headquarters and administrative staffs, or comparable personnel in other federal agencies. Interact and communicate with managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors sufficient to implement and coordinate programs and to defend, explain and promote assigned program initiatives. Develop and respond in writing to a variety of correspondence to include inquiries internal and external to NNSA. Formulate written guidance such as email notification to workforce on employee issues that are discoverable in complaints or appeals. Prepare formal documents for legal review of accuracy and sufficiency.
