Summary

The Managing Consultant reports to the Delivery Executive in a strategic consulting and delivery support role. The Managing Consultant will work side by side with our client to provide support in forming an EAM and GIS vision and leadership, careful planning, and disciplined execution to meet scope, schedule, and budget goals. Additionally, this candidate should be a high achiever with 20+ years of consulting experience working with executive-level clients and can speak to experience implementing complex, enterprise scale systems (ERP, CRM, EAM, GIS, others) such as NetSuite, IBM Maximo, Cityworks, or SAP.

The Managing Consultant should be a hands-on leader with broad enterprise-scale system implementation experience, be composed under pressure, a self-starter, can quickly assess priorities, engage resources, and drive to resolution. The position also coaches and mentors employees.

Success depends on the candidate’s ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and with clients and demonstrate both an exceptional command of implementation fundamentals, as well as the ability to advise on and deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the tactical implementation of an EAM system for large aviation clients
  • Work with various technical resources to build and meet cross-functional project plans related to schedule, budget, scope, and resources
  • Instill a sense of urgency in staff and client, identifying and producing needed deliverables on time or early.
  • Interact with clients at all levels regarding the nature of the business need or issue to be resolved
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, anticipating and planning for contingencies.
  • Manage IT implementation projects in an enterprise environment
  • Understand each workstream’s critical path activities and proactively manages those to project's benefit
  • Lead and coach subject matter experts to resolve project challenges
  • Prepare RFI, RFP, RFQ, contracts, and other documentation
  • Participate in the review and prioritization of project portfolio providing trusted advice related to investments and information technology issues
  • Manage a mix of long-term projects and short-term service requests with a high degree of flexibility and effective delegation
  • Provide data and metric-driven decisions to support the SLAs of the client’s organization
  • Drive effective and efficient command of the fundamentals of managing implementation projects.
  • Provide guidance in a comprehensive enterprise system roadmap that leverages technology trends to challenge and change the status quo
  • Assist in the managing of vendor selection, negotiation, contracting, performance, and compliance

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in both sales and delivery of professional services. Experience at “Big Four” consulting firms a plus.
  • Experience working within a PMO environment, delivering multi-workstream programs with multiple concurrent interrelated deliverables.
  • Must be highly articulate, from business and technical perspectives, able to quickly produce and present coherent, organized presentations based on clear logic, particularly where client data is limited or questionable.
  • 5+ years as a strategic consultant working directly with executive-level clients including CIO, CFO, COO, CEO at mid to large-sized enterprises or municipal/county/state governments.
  • Experience with maintenance management processes and systems (CMMS, EAM) desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, finance, accounting, or related discipline desired.
  • Must have consulting and client management skills working with Executive level client contacts.
  • Breadth and depth of experience across physical, virtual and cloud implementation of enterprise scale system implementations such as IBM Maximo, Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Hexagon, or Cityworks.
  • Function professionally under pressure with a keen sense of urgency, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines under sometimes ambiguous and often complex circumstances.
  • Experience leading high-performance teams, creating an innovation culture, and mentoring to develop team members.
  • Comfortable working with employees from shop floor to C-suite; Demonstrates professional tact, good judgment, and discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset. Demonstrates attention to detail, follow-up and has excellent organizational skills.
  • Project planning and project management experience for large scale projects in an enterprise IT environment
  • Aviation experience desired.
