Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detailoriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks including maintaining financial records processing transactions and assisting with monthend close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Processing: Enter and process accounts payable and receivable transactions ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and organized financial records including filing invoices receipts and other documentation.
  • Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Reconciliation: Assist with reconciling bank and credit card statements identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Invoicing: Prepare and send customer invoices follow up on overdue accounts and process payments.
  • Support MonthEnd Close: Assist in preparing journal entries reconciling accounts and generating financial reports for monthend close.
  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies answer inquiries and maintain uptodate account information.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain various accounting reports such as aging summaries and expense reports.
  • Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities comply with company policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • General Support: Provide general clerical support to the accounting department including answering phones responding to emails and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles including debits credits and general ledger functions.
