Job Description Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

IPT focal for CMC MRL and Producibility. Responsible for organization and updates of MRL/Producibility process for CMC manufacturing including running the reviews, publishing notes actions and chits and assuring follow through and closure .

Job Description

This role will be responsible for the coordination, execution and documentation of producibility review process and requirements, including developing part family specific tolerancing, dimensioning and process best practices for future products and design changes. This will enable robust day 1 designs that will allow for manufacturing success. Expectation once established is a 2X a year update to the templates and requirements that will be shared in the CMC design board.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Identification and execution of composites MRL and producibility reviews and activities to drive SQDC across the business. Issue and track notes, actions, and chits.
  • Continue to update and integrate the use of producibility, MRL and APQP on new hardware and design changes.
  • Establish strong standard work and reviews and continue to improve standard work to incorporate manufacturing and program execution lessons learned and updates to MRL/APQP requirements.
  • Expected to be able to share projects, statuses and plans directly with senior leadership and work cross functionally with MPE, Design, Shops and Lean Labs as needed.
  • Highlight and drive key manufacturing technology needed to support advancing MRL.
  • Schedule and execute integrated annual MRL updates across all hardware.
  • Give feedback and pull teams to give feedback on early design effort to incorporate best practices and lessons learned.
  • Own the MRL strategic vision to assure that long lead and critical MRL advancement efforts are moving to meet program needs.
  • Other roles as needed to support CMC technology.
  • Ability to get and maintain a government clearance.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in composites manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of composites experience

  • Strong composites manufacturing experience, CMC experience is desired but not required. Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Support other GE businesses, supplier, and internal / external customers
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives.

  • Function as program manager when appropriate
