Job Summary

The Senior Value Engineer will oversee and coordinate technical productivity projects within the Composites Commodity supply base. This role will involve organizing and coordinating cross-functional teams to execute on cost improvements, supporting the Sourcing supplier teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues, while providing expertise to the team on manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base, responsible for owning the technical performance of assigned suppliers.
  • Proactively identifies cost out or cost avoidance opportunities, delivery barriers, and resolves with fulfillment, commercial, and quality team members.
  • Acts as a Project Manager for large complex suppliers, collaborating with others to drive project success.
  • Has manufacturing expertise across multiple related part families and processes, with deep domain expertise in Composites.
  • Guides and influences suppliers' performance based on manufacturing expertise, driving cost reduction efforts within assigned supply base.
  • Active in supplier selection based on value, partnering with commercial owners to ensure supplier selection provides desired value.
  • Supports source changes as needed and develops lower-performing suppliers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Manufacturing).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Production Management.

  • Expertise in programming or mechanically supporting traditional and/or non-traditional machining methods.
  • Sourcing, Shop Operations, or Production Control expertise.
  • Manufacturing experience in Aerospace or Automotive a plus.
  • Humble: respectful, inclusive, good listener, learns from past.
  • Transparent: candid in feedback, shares to solve problems, helps grow others.
  • Focused: safety first, prioritizes work, measures success by the customer, continuously improves.
  • Experience in Composites raw material or component manufacturing.
