GENERAL DESCRIPTION

:

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) monitoring work. Work involves examining and reviewing records and reports to determine compliance with Texas Government Code 303 for Public Facility Corporations. Able to work under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews Audit Reports submitted annually for the Public Facility Corporations Prepares written reports within 45 days of receipt of the Audit Report, summarizing results that may address findings of noncompliance, recommendations for corrective action and technical assistance Reviews corrective action documentation and determines resolution of compliance issues within the required 60-day timeframe May conduct and prepare training materials for Public Facility Corporations. May assist in the developing and/or updating Standard Operation Procedures May process open records requests May act as a web liaison for the Division May review and handle consumer complaints May work on special projects, as needed Performs filing, faxing and other similar administrative duties Attends Division and Departmental meetings and trainings Adheres to all Department policies and procedures

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

At least two (2) years’ experience in determining eligibility for housing and other social service program (i.e. food stamps, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Section 8 or any other similar city, state, federal or private program) required Graduation from an accredited four year college or university not required, but preferred At least two (2) years of previous work experience in an office or remote office setting required Must have or be able to obtain professional designations including Certified Occupancy Specialist or an equivalent certification within one year of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to compose clear and concise reports, letters and general written correspondence. Must gather and analyze accurate and relevant information and be able to evaluate and monitor for accuracy, compliance with requirements and applicable state rules and regulations. Must have an interest and desire to work in affordable housing and government sector Must be able to travel, as needed Must possess a valid State of Texas driver’s license Must have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others Must be able to work at a high level of independence Must be able to operate calculator, adding machine and personal computer. Knowledge in Microsoft Office products

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This classification functions in a standard office environment. Ability to drive and travel as needed. Will need to move about the office to access file cabinets, use office machinery, attend meetings in various offices and conference rooms. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information via phone, computer, and in person. Must be able to observe and evaluate data in a variety of formats. Including hard copy, electronic, and ability to work beyond forty (40) hours per week as needed and in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards act (FLSA) The employee must be able to lift and/or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Must be able to push and/or pull up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

OTHER :

Must be willing to work in a non-smoking environment and adhere to all applicable Department policies and procedures.Must be willing to work overtime if necessary which may include nights and weekends.Must attend work regularly and adhere to approved work schedule.
