JOB DUTIES:
As an Accountant 3, you will:
responsible for global review and oversight of accounting activity review, research, and verification of statewide accounting activities and reports reviewing, and assisting accounting staff with a variety of accounting functions including process implementation and improvement, reporting, research, and analysis with a significant amount of independence, and providing high level operational support to all levels of internal and external stakeholders provide financial information or testimony to interested parties as needed. assist with the development of policies, internal controls, and standards for accounting activities to ensure fiscal compliance with laws, rules, and regulations serve as a backup to Accounting Bureau Chief.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

Principles and practices of governmental accounting State and federal polices, laws, and regulations as they pertain to the department.Skill in:
Evaluating, analyzing, and documenting internal control structures.Ability to:
Work independently and resolve unusual situations when given broad direction from management. Plan, organize, gather information, conduct research, and perform analytical analysis of financial records. Interpret financial data and formulate solutions/recommendations to resolve issues. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Collaborate and work effectively in a team. Operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions including using spreadsheets, word, email, internet, and other computer programs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.OR
4 years of job-related work experience with databases, interpreting financial data, or related experience.OR
Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.Preferred:
