POSITION SUMMARY

As a community resource for thousands of families, Minnesota Children's Museum is dedicated to providing children with a fun, hands-on and stimulating environment to explore and discover.
The Membership and Sales Assistant is responsible for excellent customer service for general museum inquiries and sales of memberships, admission tickets, field trips, and other museum events. This position takes incoming calls, responds to customer requests via email, and is responsible for timely data entry and sending follow-up materials. Responsibilities also include supporting members and customers onsite as needed and providing administrative assistance.
PAY: $17.00/HR
SCHEDULE: 32 hours a week with some weekend and evening availability required. This position has the option to be hybrid.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
- Respond to general museum inquiries and comments by phone and email; this includes answering customer questions and providing information. Take incoming calls and reservations for all programs and products for sale, such as memberships, tickets, field trips, Private Play Times, and museum events.
- Process sales and complete data entry for memberships purchased by phone, mail, and online using Galaxy and The Raiser's Edge. Responsible for acting on member requests for replacement cards, change of address and general record maintenance. Accountable for follow-up data entry of onsite membership sales.
- Provide administrative support by sorting incoming mail and tracking sales and sending surveys as needed.
- Support all membership, revenue-driving events and expos as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Excellent customer service and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Skill in data reconciliation and integrity.
- Skill in interpersonal communication.
- Ability to organize time and work in an effective manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of two years of formal education, training, and/or experience in communications, customer service, nonprofit membership, sales, donor relations, or a related field/function.
- Minimum of one year of experience with computer software applications such as Microsoft Teams and Excel.
