Job Summary/Basic Functions

The School of Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Clinical Faculty position for Academic Year Applicants should hold an earned Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2024.

The position services undergraduate and graduate nursing majors. The successful candidate will teach a variety of clinical and/or didactic courses within their area of clinical expertise in a 15-hour per semester course load.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Earned Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment

Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of practice as an RN
  • Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytic and problem solving skills
  • Active and effective listening skills
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and students
  • Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional communication
  • Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity

Licensure & Certifications: Current, unencumbered RN license in KY

Preferred Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate degree
  • Five (5) years of current practice as an RN
Job Duties
  • Maintain a 15-hour per semester teaching load, teaching courses as assigned at the times and in the locations necessary to meet the needs of EKU students
  • Utilize effective teaching methods, innovative teaching techniques, and teaching modalities, and multiple evaluation and assessment procedures as a means to help meet the needs of EKU students
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to one's curricular area
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of EKU, its academic units, and its campus community
  • Demonstrate respect for and support EKU's diverse campus community and student population
