The Sales Data Intelligence team is actively looking for an experienced Data Scientist. Are you enthusiastic about using data and technology to answer business and scientific questions? If so, bring your skills and talents to Lilly, where you can impact patients' lives.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Data Scientist based in Indianapolis, IN, you will analyze complex data sets, develop predictive and anomaly detection models, and identify insights to drive business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in the sales space to understand business problems, develop hypotheses, and evaluate those hypotheses with data.How You'll Succeed: By working jointly with the sales operations and technical teams, you will identify, scope, and complete analytic efforts that answer business/scientific questions, solve business/scientific needs, and make valuable contributions With a high level of curiosity, you will maintain a broad understanding of the pharmaceutical business and be fully engaged with business/sales teams, bringing an objective voice to the table and facilitating decisions grounded in data You will bring your technical experience to simplify and prepare data for analysis through an understanding of data flow and integration Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Solve complex business problems with advanced analytics and AI/ML methods, particularly in application areas such as synthetic data generation, sales and marketing-based use cases, and anomaly detection Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data science Ensure data quality and accuracy What You Should Bring: A foundational knowledge in communication, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking skills, solution/blueprint definition, business acumen, architectural processes (e.g., blueprinting, reference architecture, governance, etc.), technical standards, project delivery, and industry knowledge. Agility and flexibility to address diverse business problems Ability to work with various data sources and data types Basic Qualifications: Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, mathematics, or quantitative related field OR Bachelor's in computer science/computer engineering data science, Statistics, mathematics, or quantitative related field with at least 2 years of related working experience Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical analysis. Knowledge of algorithms, principles, and tools used Proficiency with one or more relevant programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL Preferred Qualifications: Experience in AWS or Azure Experience in Data Bricks Experience in risk-score modeling, time series modeling, trend analysis, sales forecasting, customer segmentation, impact assessment, attribution analytics, collaborative filtering, marketing mix modeling, and recommendation engines. Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) Experience with database management, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, decision trees, logistic regression, etc.) and deep learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow and PyTorch). Experience with end-to-end model deployment. Experience with Agile Development, CI/CD, Jenkins, Github, and Automation platforms. Knowledgeable in data functions such as Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Business Intelligence. Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex data domains and craft practical solutions for subsequent data exploitation via analytics.
