Are you looking to make a significant difference by contributing to drug discovery for diabetes and obesity? We are seeking an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visibility research projects Your work will contribute to the development of innovative tools to understand G Protein-Coupled Receptor (GPCR) pharmacology for the treatment of metabolic disease. In this role, you will:

Perform novel molecular pharmacology studies to characterize mechanisms of drug action at GPCRs.Work with and be mentored by industry-leading drug hunters across functions, including molecular pharmacologists, structural biologists, and disease biology experts.Become a key part of the Lilly discovery platform for targeting GPCRs to treat diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disease. The opportunity exists to become an internal expert on GPCRs and metabolic drug discovery. Maintain external awareness for the benefit of the organization.Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.Basic QualificationsPhD in a life science related fieldAdditional Skills/Preferences If you are described with these skills, you could be a great fit for the role: Strong background in pharmacology, biochemistry, G protein-coupled receptors or antibodies would be advantageous.Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.Proficient in data analysis and reporting (PRISM, Excel, PowerPoint, Spotfire, etc.)Experienced with cellular biology/biochemistry/chemical biology/molecular pharmacology Prior work with membrane proteins, cellular signaling pathways, and/or antibodies is a plusAdditional InformationThis position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years.
