Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Investments & Capital Markets Division is currently seeking a junior Financial Engineer to design, develop and support fixed income software written in Java and Python.

Our Impact:

The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is responsible for management of the retained portfolio as well as debt funding, cash window, liquidity management and interest-rate hedging. The division is also responsible for credit risk transfer securitization.

Your Impact:

The ideal candidate will have a creative but analytical attitude and be passionate about software engineering. The selected candidate will combine software development, quantitative analysis, and collaboration skills to help build high-performance, scalable and fault tolerant solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent working experience
  • 2-4+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with hands-on development and automated testing
  • Programming languages: Java, Python
  • Basic financial knowledge, preferably knowledge with fixed income
  • Proven quantitative skills (e.g., statistics, econometrics)
