Office of Major Gifts

Davidson College, located approximately 20 miles north of
Charlotte near scenic Lake Norman, is consistently regarded as one
of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation. The college seeks
an engaging and motivated individual to join its dynamic major
gifts team.

The Major Gift Officer and Manager of Identity-Focused
Philanthropy will cultivate and steward philanthropic support from
high-net-worth individuals while also spearheading identity-based
fundraising initiatives, with a particular focus on the college's
women's philanthropy initiative. Candidates should possess a
track record of successful relationship management and a
demonstrated ability to close significant and complex philanthropic
commitments

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage a regionally-based portfolio of approximately 60
households capable of gifts ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000 in
support of Davidson College's strategic priorities.
Conduct a minimum of 80 personal visits annually with major
gift prospects.
Allocate approximately 50% of time to managing identity-based
fundraising efforts.
Establish and meet measurable annual goals for major gift
proposal activity.
Efficiently manage travel logistics and expenses.
Maintain a complete record of all donor interactions using the
Blackbaud CRM system.
Actively engage in the life of the college through attendance
at campus events.
Staff College Relations special events on campus and in
regional territories on an as needed basis.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum three years' experience in development or closely
related field (e.g., sales or marketing)
Experience with identity-based fundraising initiatives,
particularly women's philanthropy, is highly desirable.
Ability to think strategically to develop and implement
comprehensive fundraising plans and initiatives
Willingness to travel extensively and work evenings and
weekends as needed
Proven ability to maintain a high level of
confidentiality.
Proven organizational skills.
