Position Overview

The Vocational Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIE

S:

  • Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies
  • Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multidisciplinary team. visits clients in their home and other settings required.
  • Familiar with OMH regulations
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services
  • Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision
  • Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team
  • Responsible for charting client services
  • Responsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service plan
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services
with the tasks of all the team members

  • Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant's needs change
  • Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible
  • Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status
  • Followup quarterly with all employed tenants
  • Assist with making monthly contact with tenant as needed
  • Participate in biweekly monthly meeting
  • Participate in monthly supervision to address any workrelated tasks or concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
The Salary for this positon : The Mininmum is $40,000 and the Maximum is $40,000

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • BA degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Must have two or more years' experience working with persons who are seriously persistently mentally ill under the supervision of a certified rehabilitation counselor.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
  • Ability to research material via the internet.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Valid driver's license is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience working with different populations preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
