Responsibilities

  • The Medical Staff Coordinator will assist in complying with Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, regulatory and accrediting agencies, interpreting standards, and implementing changes.
  • Coordinates credentialing activities, including data entry and physician database maintenance; credentialing processes, expirables, and other duties that support provider onboarding activities.
  • Serves as effective liaison between practitioner, hospital, and Centralized Verification Office (CVO) throughout the credentialing process.
  • Responsible for understanding State, Federal, and Regulatory Agency requirements, accreditation compliance, and other critical matters that may affect the healthcare environment regarding the medical staff.
  • Provides support to the Medical Staff organization as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical staff services, hospital administrative department or credentialing verification organization. Comparable healthcare or managed care work experience may be considered.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • FIRESAFETY Card (within 90 days of hire)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent data entry skills; detail-oriented, ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work remotely as assigned while maintaining confidentiality, communicating appropriately and completing assignments according to deadlines
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration despite interruptions for necessary periods.
  • Ability to coordinate and analyze data, perform simple and repetitive tasks, and maintain a work pace appropriate to the assigned workload and deadlines.
  • Perform varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions, collaborate proactively with customers, coworkers, and peers;
  • Make appropriate decisions and exercise judgement based on appropriate information while elevating questions and concerns to the Director.
  • Accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control, and planning of day-today workload.

Preferred/Desired:

  • CPCS
  • Credentialing database experience

Pay Range

$ $38.27 /hour
