Join our team The King County Employee Giving Program (EGP) seeks skilled administrative professionals to serve as Employee Giving Campaign Assistants.

These short-term temporary (STT) positions will provide administrative and technical support to the EGP during the 2024 Annual Giving Drive.

Incumbents will assist the EGP team to provide excellent customer service to our employees and participating non-profit organizations. This recruitment will be used to fill up to four STT positions.

EGP delivers an innovative and effective comprehensive giving program that empowers and engages employees to enrich our communities and provide opportunities for all people to thrive.

Job Duties

Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees.

This role will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work.


As an EGP Campaign Assistant, you will:
Provide excellent customer service to employees and nonprofit organizations, via the phone, in-person, and electronically.
Directly support the Ambassador Teams in fundraising and ambassador development efforts during the Annual Giving Drive. Collaborate to understand distinct worksite needs and increase utilization of the Employee Giving Program.
Work collaboratively with other campaign staff to execute Annual Giving Drive tasks.
Assist EGP staff in coordinating meetings, trainings, workshops, and other speaking opportunities.

Represent the program through presentations and interpersonal communications at worksites to cultivate awareness and relationships and to promote positive interactions with program opportunities.

Draft and compose documents, including standard work and communications; and create, edit, compile, and track data using spreadsheets and visual measurement.

Maintain the integrity of department data and employee information in a confidential manner.

Travel to remote King County worksites by car to distribute program materials, facilitate connections, and conduct outreach, as needed and appropriate.

Load and unload program materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Assist with drafting, editing, and sharing electronic communications in a variety of channels, including social media, blog, and email.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

We Are Looking for People Who
Are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Can work collaboratively with a diverse team and community while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with diverse individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.

Thrive independently, are self-motivated, and able to take initiative.
Have excellent judgment and a high level of professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Can organize and manage their time while focusing on time sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Have experience navigating presentations and virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience fostering creativity and problem solving.
Experience with workplace giving or nonprofit fundraising.
Necessary Special Requirements
Ability to move and lift up to 20 pounds.

A valid Washington State Driver's license to operate a Non-Revenue County Vehicle or the ability to travel to remote King County worksites in a timely manner.

Other Position InformationThese non-represented positions are non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and are therefore overtime eligible.

Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour work week, normally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Set schedule and number of work week hours can be flexible with supervisor approval. These positions are classified as Administrative Specialist II; class code and are short-term temporary, non-benefit eligible.

The work associated with these positions will be performed through a combination of onsite and telework throughout the work week.

Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
