About the Team:

The Vehicle Manufacturing Panel Manufacturing team will play a crucial role in the manufacturability of our aerospace vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This team is responsible for developing and manufacturing aerospace barrel panels thru CNC machining and rolling processes. This position requires the candidate to be willing to learn these processes, have a great attitude, and a commitment to excellence in the aerospace industry.

About the Role:

  • Production Processes: Assist day to day production tasks which will include:
    • Loading and unloading panels and/or barrels with the use of overhead cranes
    • Installing structural mechanical piece parts
    • Performing panel dimensional inspections
    • Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches
    • Operating CNC Machining and Roll Forming equipment to execute programs
    • Performing visual material inspections
    • Perform precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation
    • Ensure to uphold 5S standards in the work center and follow clean as you go practices
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing machinery process, which could include defects in materials, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies in production methods.
  • Safety: Ensure all operations are being run in accordance to Relativity Space standards
  • Teamwork: Foster and inclusive environment for all members of the team.

About You:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certification
  • Experience with metal fabrication techniques
  • Experience with machining equipment (mill, lathe, etc)
  • Proficient in the use of common inspection tools and hand tools
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience with rigging and crane operations
  • Ability to adapt in fast paced environments
  • 1+ years of aerospace mechanical experience or related field
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, such as rolling and forming
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience with CNC, robotics, and/or machine programming
