The School of Information Sciences seeks an HR Manager to support day-to-day Human Resources (HR) operations and provide guidance to the HR team at our growing school. This newly created position will report to the Director of Human Resources and will also play a key role in service delivery and process improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and contribute to day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance and successful delivery of HR services.
Serve as a resource for and liaison of the HR team, escalating issues to the HR Director and other appropriate stakeholders as needed. Provide training and mentoring for the HR team as needed.
Advise supervisors and employees on HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with university policies and procedures. Consult with campus entities and other stakeholders as needed.
Support the development and implementation of recruitment, retention, and other HR- and Office for Access and Equity-related initiatives, activities, and best practices.
Interpret and apply HR and Office for Access and Equity policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the iSchool.

Additional Physical Demands
Work is performed in a typical office environment. On-campus is preferred, but hybrid options are available.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources or a field closely related to the position.
Four (4) years' experience providing diverse HR services.
Demonstrated team leadership or supervisory skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated working knowledge of routine work applications.
Ability to train and mentor HR staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ability to identify and resolve varied and/or complex issues, guided by policies and best practices.
Customer service skills to diverse clients.
Well-developed organizational and communications skills.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time HR Manager (Civil Service Human Resource Associate) position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close date. The minimum salary is $75,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
