Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented UXO Technician I for immediate hire. This position can be based anywhere in the Continental United States however, will require 100% travel to various client sites within the Country.

In accordance with Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18 (DDESB TP-18), a UXO Technician I:

  1. Assists in:
  2. Performing reconnaissance and classification of UXO.
  3. Identifying U.S. and foreign guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuzes, projectiles and projectile fuzes, grenades and grenade fuzes, rockets and rocket fuzes, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnic items, military explosives, and demolition materials.
  4. Performs location of subsurface UXO using military and/or civilian magnetometers.
  5. Assists in performing excavation procedures on buried UXO.
  6. Performs operator maintenance of military and/or civilian magnetometers.
  7. Locates surface UXO using visual means.
  8. Assists in transporting and storing UXO and demolition materials.
  9. Assists in:
  10. Preparing non-electric firing systems for UXO disposal operations.
  11. Preparing electric firing systems for UXO disposal operations disposing of ammunition/explosives by burning, and disposing of ammunition/explosives by detonation.
  12. Implementation of engineering controls
  13. Use global position systems for navigation and the recording of positions and/or findings.

    Qualifications:
    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

  14. High school diploma.
  15. Position requires using an AECOM provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle for AECOM company business to support travel to various client site locations.
  16. This position will require a Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
  17. Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  18. Participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty exam in accordance with 29 CFR This position is contingent upon passing a Fit for Duty exam by receiving a medically "qualified" fit for duty result letter indicating the employee is medically "qualified" to conduct work activities at the jobsite.
  19. 40-hour HAZWOPER.
  20. Current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher (if applicable).

    Qualifications

    In accordance with Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18 (DDESB TP-18), a UXO Technician I shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

  21. Graduate of a military EOD assistant course; or an accredited UXO technician training course; or military EOD school of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia.
  22. On-the-job training including, but not limited to, familiarity with the process, procedures, and equipment (e.g., geophysical) used for conducting MEC-related activities.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  23. Prior munitions response-related work experience on AGC projects.
