Sr. Accounting Manager
Role Description:
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of revenue accounting and accounts payable functions within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, accounting practices, and compliance requirements specific to the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Accounting:
- Oversee the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies and guidelines, including ASC 606.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to ensure proper revenue recognition and reporting.
- Perform revenue analysis and reconciliation to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Supervise the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and procedures related to accounts payable operations.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor cash flow and forecast payment obligations to optimize working capital management.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to revenue and accounts payable activities.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Support external audits and regulatory compliance requirements related to revenue and accounts payable functions.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team, promoting accountability and excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Extensive experience in revenue accounting and accounts payable management in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and ASC 606 requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with industry-specific software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing and developing teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
