Responsibilities include performance evaluation, cost-saving identification, and compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies specific to ancillary services. As the primary point of contact for resolving contract-related issues, including payment disputes with contracted payors, the Ancillary Contract Manager will propose possible solutions. Additionally, they oversee contract implementation, distribution, and termination as needed, ensuring proper documentation and internal communication. The Ancillary Contract Manager will also have strong negotiation skills, a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and operations pertaining to all ancillary services. They will work independently yet collaboratively within different team dynamics and demonstrate exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities. The Ancillary Contract Manager will be responsible for rate and language negotiations while coordinating with internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Operations, etc.) to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Continuous monitoring of financial performance related to ancillary contracts is crucial, with a focus on optimizing revenue while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality care delivery. In addition to negotiating and managing contracts directly related to freestanding ASCs, imaging centers, and infusion centers, involvement in broader contracting initiatives is expected. This includes supporting Keck Medicine's network expansion efforts and collaborating with third-party vendors and providers across various specialties.

Essential Duties:

Negotiates, executes, operationalizes, and manages ancillary contracts with payors and other stakeholders.Ensures provider reimbursement and language negotiations align with company guidelines.Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.Collaborates with legal counsel to ensure contracts are compliant, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes.Continuously evaluates and improves the contracting process to drive cost savings and improve efficiency.Coordinates with providers and credentialing department to ensure compliance and completeness.Leads collaboration efforts with other business units to complete contracting, process improvements, and system enhancements on behalf of Contracting.Presents contract and rate justifications to leadership for approval.Monitors contract performance and addresses any issues that arise.Oversees special projects, mass amendments, and other assignments as needed or assigned.Perform other contracting duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Req Bachelor's DegreeReq 5 years Experience in managed care hospital and ancillary contracting.Req Exceptional knowledge of ancillary agreements/structures and managed care negotiating and contract executionReq Excellent skill in negotiating and collaborating with others and to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutionsReq Skilled in interpreting financial and contract performance analytics/reportsReq Strong interpersonal relationship skills both in one-on-one and group situations; securing buy-in and agreement through collaborative effortReq Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to determine the next steps in a process and execute them independentlyReq Strong verbal and written presentation skills and the ability to provide clear information to business/department leadsReq Strong knowledge of contract language and able to review terms related to liability, indemnification, and insuranceReq Ability to interact effectively both with internal leaders as well as vendors and suppliersReq Experience working with and utilizing Office365, Excel, Word, and AccessPreferred Qualifications:Pref Master's degree Business or Health AdministrationPref Experience in large-scale Health SystemsPref DocuSign experienceRequired Licenses/Certifications: Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
