Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is seeking a Sr. Product Ops Manager to join our Product Operations Team. Product Operations enable the achievement of product and business outcomes. Product Operations is responsible for process improvement design, tooling, automation, and leading all related cross-functional work and communication.
What You'll Do
All members of the Product Operations team are expected to:

  • Continuously enhance operational processes. Seek feedback on current processes, identify opportunities to optimize workflows, and work cross-functionally to implement optimizations.
  • Drive change, resulting in business processes that streamline operations and assure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate through proactive communication and coordination with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure successful product and process outcomes.
  • Oversee and manage the product management tool stack specific to their areas of ownership.
  • Champion data literacy & data-driven decision-making within the Product organization.
  • Mentor and coach Product Management teams on best practices, tools, and techniques to facilitate efficient delivery of high-quality software.
  • Develop training materials, templates, and documentation to support internal product teams and stakeholders in understanding processes, changes, and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by team, department, and company leadership.

This role leads the product voice of market and roadmap planning operational procedures and includes these additional expectations:

  • Own the voice of market processes, including customer discovery and experimentation
  • Own the roadmap planning process from ideation through deployment, ensuring the process supports data-informed decision-making, alignment to strategy, and shared understanding across product teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work closely with our solution analyst to recommend and implement best practices that support the voice of the market (Planbox, Pendo) and roadmap planning (Jira Product Discovery).

What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
  • Ability to travel

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Experience in Product Operations and/or Product Management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, with a proven ability to adapt to change and translate it into action plans.
  • Ability to manage large business and technology projects through the full product development lifecycle.
  • An influence without authority mindset and a proven track record of working with and influencing leadership to ensure alignment.
  • Coaching and consultative skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders to identify and address organizational needs.
  • Resourceful, problem-solving attitude
  • Demonstrated analytics and process improvement experience.
  • Experience with the voice of market and roadmap planning tools (even if not the ones we use)
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence, JIRA, and SharePoint
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines

Additionally, you may have:

  • Familiarity with data-driven storytelling and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, or Looker
  • A background working for a SaaS or software company
  • Insurance industry exposure
