Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Under direct supervision, serves as a front-line resource in the wellness center to ensure that students and employees follow applicable policies in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Checks identification cards to verify current status of person to determine eligibility (i.e. possession of a current student or employee ID card, proper shoes and proper clothing) to enter and use the LSC-University Park Wellness Center (UPWC) Advises potential patrons of dress policy for the use of the facility, rules for the use of specific areas of the facility and related information concerning the facility Requires all facility users to "sign in" on the liability/emergency information sheet per visit Assists employees and community users in their completion of the UPWC medical history and liability risk disclaimer document Provides information concerning the UPWC to prospective users and directs potential community members to the wellness center coordinator and/or support staff person Issues equipment to patrons of the Wellness Center Notifies the Supervisor, Health Sciences Chair and/or Police of any problems that occur within the Wellness Center. Secures cleaning services when applicable At 30-minute intervals, walks through Center to observe use of the facilities by qualified patrons and ensures that an accident has not occurred Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be detail oriented and a team player Good communication skills PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $11.32.
