Senior Electromechanical Engineer

Lenexa, Kansas, United States Enduralock Full time

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Electromechanical Engineer will work in cross functional teams to develop complex electromechanical systems, including electromagnetic tools to actuate mechanical locking mechanisms and robotic systems to automate fastener installation and preload verification processes.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the full development cycle, from requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, validation, documentation, and on-going support.
Provide conceptual and detailed designs to convey the design intent to management and production via renderings, 3D models and 2D drawings.
Create and maintain engineering documents. Comply with document control processes (ECO, ECN, and BOM).
Participate and support efforts in creating Bill of Materials, installation instructions, and other support documents.
Evaluate technical risks through DFMEA's and ensure timely completion of required actions.
Obtain prototypes and develop written test protocols to verify or evaluate design performance. Create reports and presentations related to design activities.
Ensure products are fully tested and conform to functional specifications and/or customer requirements.
Collaborate with quality assurance to inspect parts and document inspection reports conforming to ISO and AS9100 standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience, or Master's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience

Must have technical skills:

Significant experience in electro-mechanical design, system integration, testing and troubleshooting, and mechanism design, including design, selection and integration of actuators, sensors, and controllers.
Experience with 3D solid modeling tools, such as SolidWorks or Catia, for design conceptualization, realization and drafting.
Hands on experience is desired for designing, assembling, and troubleshooting end effectors, installing and integrating various sensors, possibly a vision system.
Experience programming in C/C++/Python.
Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
Experience building system models using Adams or other similar tools.
Experience selecting, integrating and programming PLC systems and selection of HMI's, solenoids, flow valves, screens, etc.
