Senior Product Development Engineer

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager-Fans, you will primarily be responsible for working as a member of a cross functional team, all synchronized in launching new solutions to the ventilation market. A Product Development Engineer would conduct in-depth research, assist Product Management in building business cases, create conceptual design studies/models, and develop comprehensive test plans. Basic knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and compliance regulations are essential foundational steps.
Individual strengths include analytical or problem-solving skills, logical thinker, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, considers to be a self-starter, outside the box thinker, and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in research activities, including but not limited to, market analysis, voice of customer, and understanding internal manufacturing capabilities.
- Perform engineering analyses and calculations (fluid dynamics/acoustics).
- Conducting tests, evaluating
- Write engineering specifications for ventilation products and accessories.
- Analyze business case to develop project goals and product expectations.
- Schedule tasks and report progress to project stakeholders.
- Execute project-specific document control processes.
An in-depth understanding of the product application is pivotal for developing viable solutions to today’s problems. Whether it be toxic outdoor air from neighboring forest fires, addressing radon gases in our homes, or simply to improve the indoor air quality where we work and play, Systemair is seeking talented individuals with a passion for developing life changing solutions.
Skills, Education, and/or Experience
- BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years professional experience (product development experienced is a plus).
- Basic understanding of electrical power or electronics (relevant experience a plus).
- 3D modelling (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, etc.).
- Computational Fluid Dynamics software (ANSYS or SolidWorks Flow Simulation).
- Programming (proficient in either C, Basic, C++, Java, Python, etc.)
- Carpentry, Mechanical (Mechanic) or equivalent; hands on skills a plus
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Self-starter that demonstrates a sense of urgency to achieve important goals.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
Physical Job Conditions
- Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office Setting
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk/computer screen
- Moderate physical effort – able to lift between 10 and 15lbs at times.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for long periods of time.
