We are looking for an associate level Mechanical Test Engineer (ME) or Mechanical Test Engineering Technologist (MET) to build their skills within our team, supporting production test of the US Navy's major and medium caliber gun weapon systems. This is an exciting and dynamic job where you'll not only work on important projects, but help advance the US Navy's global dominance of the seas.
You will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Louisville, KY facility. This position will report onsite on a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
As a ME or MET with BAE Systems you will:

  • Work with production personnel helping them set up and test Naval Weapons Systems
  • Aid in drawing interpretations
  • Work with design engineering to suggest updates and revisions to drawings
  • Maintain production Test Equipment
  • Help in the implementation of new test equipment and replacement equipment
  • Help train production personnel in proper use of test equipment
  • Learn new programming skills

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology or closely related degree and two years experience
  • Possess and exhibit a level of hands-on ability
  • CAD experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient technical writing ability

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience creating and executing test procedures for complex mechanical assemblies
  • Experience on and trouble shooting hydraulic assemblies and systems
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programming
  • Experience using test equipment, i.e. data acquisition units, multimeters, oscilloscopes
  • Experience with Visio

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $116800
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
