About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, conveyor layouts, and tooling design using CAD software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including conveyor layouts and tooling design, using CAD software.
  • Functional Design Documentation: Develop and produce comprehensive functional design documentation (FDD) for all projects.
  • 3D Modeling and Prototyping: Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings for mechanical equipment, sub-assemblies, and product structures.
  • Prototype Development and Testing: Collaborate with the research and development team to design and develop prototypes, and test and validate them to ensure they meet design specifications and standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to the manufacturing team during the production process.
  • Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
  • Industry Trends: Continuously stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and competitive products.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a focus on conveyor layouts, tooling design, and prototype development.
  • Skills: Proficient in CAD software and 3D modeling, strong experience in creating functional design documentation (FDD), and proven track record in prototype development.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, exceptional technical and mechanical aptitude, ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
