Position Summary
The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach an MS Business Analytics course during the fall of 2024.
Responsibilities
Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework Uphold academic performance standards and integrity Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes.
Course Description
MSBA Programming for Data Analytics (August 26-October 8, 2024; Mondays online from 7:00 pm-9:40 pm and four Saturdays in person from 8:00 am-12:30 pm) -- This course uses Python as a modern programming language to introduce basic concepts and techniques of computer programming and software development. Students in this course will learn the skills necessary to build well-designed code modules and data models for business. Topics include data structures, control structures, data input/output, object-oriented programming, exception handling, and debugging. This course is only available for graduate students enrolled in the Barowsky School of Business.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Analytics or Computer Science or closely related fields, or post-graduate training in Python programming with an emphasis on applications to business. Experience teaching Python programming with business applications. Working proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Proficiency in working with Zoom.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Business Analytics or Computer Science. Experience teaching Python programming to MSBA or graduate students. Work experience in the computer/software industry.
